Boards and committees

Expert participation within defined authority

Boards, committees and panels bring relevant expertise to the Association’s work while remaining subject to formal terms, conflict controls and accountable decision procedures.

Appointments

Competence, balance and independence

Appointments are made against the competence, experience and perspective required for the body’s remit. Composition is considered in relation to technical coverage, geographic and professional diversity, stakeholder balance and threats to impartiality.

Members act in the interests of the Association’s mandate and the proper discharge of the body’s terms of reference. They do not serve as instructed representatives of an employer, sponsor, client or constituency unless a role is expressly constituted on that basis.

Technical participation

Contributing expertise

The Association may appoint specialists to standing bodies, time-limited working groups, peer-review panels or consultation forums. Selection depends on the subject, the nature of the contribution and the safeguards required.

Expressions of interest are considered against current programme needs. Participation does not confer membership grade, certification status or authority to speak on behalf of the Association.

Institutional framework

Consult the principal governance policies

The policy framework addresses conduct, conflicts, complaints, appeals, information governance and authorised use of Association identity.
